Resident Profile:

Andy Jouan

ABSTRACT ARTIST

Having a strong creative streak since a very young age and a “real feel for music”, it was whilst living in London that I found an added string to my bow, spending time with artist Nick Malone and London Art Classes in Deptford.

As an abstract artist using acrylic on canvas I hope to encourage the viewer to explore how the art makes them “Feel” rather than having a single point of focus.

Expressing my soul’s connection to the greater creative force around us, I hope my authenticity, openness to creative technique and organic expression will attract a wide audience looking for expressive pieces.

A Jersey boy at heart, being part of the beach and music culture on the island, my connection to nature has influenced me as I look to connect to meet our “Inner Observer”. In 2015 I released my first EP “Soulsearch” being an aspiring Guitarist/Singer Songwriter – my acclaim to fame the EP reached the Top 10 in the Reverbnation Folk charts, as well as an Akademia Award for “Best Folk EP Nov 2015”.

Now in 2017 I decided a move back to the coast was needed and have just arrived in Boscombe on the South Coast of England. A great believer in the synchronicity of life I soon found a fantastic creative community in the area and have joined the fun at The Factory Studios.

I look forward to expanding my creativity and working within the community. With new directions in art and music I hope to record more on site and send out some acoustic sets via Youtube as well as live events in the local area. I can be found on the normal social media as well as my website www.andyjouan.com.
